Bishops school Pune all JKg admissions stayed

By Madhurie Singh, March 24, 2013

The Bishops school Pune has met with the brunt of the new RTE rules for the second time in the year 2013.

The Pune Zilla Parishad education officer has passed the order until the full investigation is done that all the lower kg admission in all the branches of the Bishop’s School in Pune city will be staying or stayed.

The order was passed in response to the complaint filed at the behest of the parents that the school is not following the RTE Act norms in the admissions.

The advocate in the case is MR Ravikiran Tribhuwan.

As per the PZP education officer Mr Shendar, the school gave admission to 155 students on Feb 26 and then 45 on March 4, without considering the so called availability or reserving the 25% seats for the poor or minority communities. Hence the entire admission is deemed illegal.

The parents were unhappy with the lottery system and the unfairness in the admission process by violating the Article 21(a) of the Constitution and many other provisions of RTE.
