Hello mam, when will be start admission procedure in next year. 2016-17.

Hi Madurie, Thanks for your reply about Kothrud schools. Actually, my daughter is studying in one of the best schools in Kothrud in Sr. Kg. However as this is a state board school, I am thinking if I should shift her to a CBSE one. However, not sure if one should go for a very good state board school or go for CBSE. I had read your article about school board comparison and let me appreciate it . That was a very nice well explained article. I am now inclined towards CBSE, however as the current school is very much reputed and overall good, I am not able to decide. I think this is dilemma of most of the parents from areas like Kothrud, where there are good schools but mostly State Board. Thanks in advance, Deepali

Hi Madhurie, Just read this coversation about Kothrud schools. Have you reviewed any of the famous schools in Kothrud like Millenium, Abhinav, Paranjape etc. Your review comments are most awaited for parents from Kothrud area. Thanks in advance, Deepali

Hi, I have been following your website for the past few months. We may be moving bac to Pune from US. Schools in Pune worry me. The admission process and the exorbitant fees. I think the system should be changed. Schools here are free from Kindergarten to 10th ( they are paid for by taxes.) It is not a perfect system, but it is still better. Schools should not be a money making institutions and should be able to handle and accept ALL the children in the city. Where does our tax money go in India? Not in infrastructure, not in roads, not in education. People have to stand up and demand stuff. I'm hoping your website can help improve Pune education. Thanks for your time. Sonalika

Dear Sonalika, Thanks for following my blog. When the Government does not utilize our tax money properly to provide food and shelter to the poors, expecting any change is futile unless the educated class wakes up and votes. I was recently Election officer incharge of a booth and was shocked to see only 20 people from my own society come to vote out of 200 families! Schools are also not into charity. They are doing what the Gov should be doing. But then Gov has land and all the resources that the private schools do not have. So they procure everything at a high cost. It may take a school 7-10 years to even break even! So we also need to understand their problems and do what we can and must do, ie vote to bring the good people in the system. There are free schools in India too that are so pathetic that my one day of stay there to review Teach for India was an unbearable thing with stench and poor infrastructure. And if these private schools stop doing their job, trust me we will all have to start home schooling! :) So Yes, even I am hoping that people stand up for themselves if not for others! As far as my site is concerned, I am doing that is feasible for me as an individual. I am sure there will be people like me who will also join me and volunteer information to make parents aware. Keep writing, XOXO Madhurie Singh

Dear Madhurie, I can fully understand that reviewing the schools is not an easy job. And my intention was not to pin point anything, it just came in the flow. Sorry if it has hurt you in anyway. At the same time I am also looking for reviews of the kothrud schools in coming times. Cheers for all your hard work! Have a haapy day ahead! :) :)

LOL no Vidya, I m not hurt !!!!

Well this is the first artcle in your blog for any of the schools in Kothrud area. :) Anyways this year I have also got an experience with the schools in kothrud (all State Board) when i started looking for admission for my 3 year old son. First of all there is only one CBSE school called City International in our area and rest others are all state board. When i started asking Parents whose kids are 2-3 years older than my son I got different response from every one. But it seems people in this area are more inclined to state board schools only. And I was not keen for the board specific infact I was looking for a school where the staff, teachers and Principal are well behaved and treat the children nicely. Secondly school should not be far from home and ultimately it should also provide extra curricular activities to children and not just mere books and studies. Finally speaking to all Parents I decided to try for all the schools and then will decide which to finalise. And here starts the process which is very painful. All state board schools ask the Parents to fill the form (with form fee nin 300/- to 500/- rupees) and then they do a lucy draw and display the final list of selected children. And to my surprise my Son's name was not their in any of the lists out of 6 schools for which I submitted the form. Out of which New India is also the one. Hence I have decided to go only for CBSE or ICSE and the school which are near to my area from 1st standard onwards. For pre primary I am looking for pre schools only. Madhurie, actually kothrud word clicked me to write such a big story of mine though its not relevant to the topic you have posted. Sorry readers! :)

Dear Vidya, I think, its my fault to have not reviewed any school in Kothrud that you have post this comment. My Apologies.

Does these so called BIG schools have right to teach about ethics to our kids ??
