Important News About CBSE Board 2016-2017

1. The CBSE Board exams of Class 10th will be compulsory from the next academic session.
HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar said, “This month there will be a CBSE Board meeting, in which there will be a resolution (for compulsory Class 10 board exams). So, I am very sure, from academic session 2017-18, Board examination will be mandatory for all students,”
So the Class 10 passing out in 2017, will be the last batch to have the option to appear for the either the school exam or board exam.
2. Parinam Manjusha. The board has introduced ways for easy access to academic documents online by launching its digital repository. The repository is named as Parinam Manjusha. The digital repository has been developed by the Central Board of Secondary Education in collaboration with NEGD (DigiLocker). Students can access their marksheets, migration certificates and pass certificates at the click of a button through this repository. Source
3. Aadhar Card will be made an essential identification document for all students appearing in Board Exams and competitive examinations like JEE Mains, JEE Advanced, NEET and CAT. Aadhar card will be a pre-requisite at the time of registration. By the unique identification number, the exam conducting committees will be checking the fraud and impersonation.
4. Online Fee Collection. In a recent notification released on the official website of CBSE, the board has asked all its affiliated schools to collect fees by online medium from the next quarter. All payments will be made in a non-cash mode. Because of the recent made changes in terms of denominations of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes on 8th Nov 2016, this directive has been issued to the CBSE schools on December 10. The Secretary of CBSE, Joseph Emmanuel, informed about this change. He has asked the principals of CBSE schools to promote cashless transactions from next quarter.
