Have you ever thought how much is the cost per hour that your child spends in the school? And is it really worth that amount. Definitely not if after a big sum of money of the school tuition fee you have to pay another few thousands to send your kid for coaching? Is it not what the school should be doing?

So here is the calculation for you all.

Total number days your child goes to the school:

A rough estimate of 20 days per month = 20*12 = 240 days.

Summer vacation  = subtract 60 days = 240-60 = 180 days.

Diwali holidays =  subtract 15 days = 180-15 = 165 days.

Winter holidays = subtract 15 days = 165 – 15 = 150 days.

National Holidays =  10 days = 150-10 = 140 days.

Sick days = 2 per month = 24 = 140-24 = 116 days.

Sports day = 3 days = 116-3 = 113 days.

Annual Day = 1 days = 113-1 = 112 days.

Strike = minimum 2 per year = 112-2 = 110 days.

Out of that 110 days there will be 1 day per month when you will be forced to bunk the school for no reason or reason beyond your control. = 110-10 days.

Hence the total number of days your child is attending school is only 100 days!

Considering the 100 days they go to school,

It is only 3.3 months that they go to school in a year.

Now lets say every day 5 hours they spend in the classroom study.

So 100* 5 = 500 hours in one year for all the fees you paid.

Now divide the school fee by the number of hours.

So if the school fee is Rs 2000*12/year =  24000/500 = Rs 48/hour.
