Parents, How 2025 US Trade Deal Impact Your Children in India?
By Madhurie Singh, July 12, 2025

“Why should I care about the 2025 US India Trade Deal?”
You’ve probably said this or thought this.I get it. You’re busy trying to feed your child, save for tuition, maybe even planning for your parents’ care.
But let me tell you something:
The trade deal impacts children — not someday. Not in theory. But today, right now.It affects your child’s food, your family’s health, your home’s budget, and the very soil under your feet.
🧬 You Feed Your Child Love — But What’s Hidden in That Bite?

You and I spend hours checking ingredient lists, choosing “natural” over “flavored,” trying to give our kids the best.
But if this 2025 US India Trade Deal passes fully — especially with the clause on genetically modified crops (GMOs) — you may not have a choice anymore. You think you’re buying atta.
But the wheat may come from patented US seed. You think you’re cooking dal-rice.
But the rice may be “Roundup-Ready,” full of chemicals the Indian soil has never seen before.
I’m not exaggerating.
In the 1990s, the US made similar deals.
By 2005, 95% of their soy and corn were genetically modified.
And today? Their school meals are full of GM oils and flour.
Childhood obesity? Doubled.Teen diabetes? Soared.
PCOS, hormonal issues, gut problems? Common before age 20.
That’s how trade deal impacts children.
🧑🌾 My Farmer, My Soil, My India — Slowly Slipping Away

You and I may live in cities, but don’t forget — your child’s food begins in a village.
If India gives in to the U.S. seed clause, it means foreign companies own our farms.
Seeds won’t belong to the farmer.
They’ll be software, rented yearly.
One missed payment? No crop.
My grandfather owned seeds, saved them, passed them on.Your child might grow up where seeds are “subscription-based.”
You know who controls these seeds?Monsanto, now Bayer.
You may have heard the name Monsanto — now rebranded as Bayer. But no parent should forget its past. Monsanto was the original maker of Agent Orange, a deadly chemical used by the U.S. during the Vietnam War to destroy forests. It didn’t just kill trees — it caused birth defects, cancers, and lifelong illnesses in thousands of innocent civilians and soldiers. The same company now wants to sell patented seeds to India. Different label, same mindset. I refuse to feed my child food rooted in such a dark legacy. And I hope you feel the same. Because poison, no matter how it’s packaged, stays poison.
When foreign seeds enter, they come with foreign chemicals. That means more soil damage.
Less rain absorption.
More pesticide-resistant weeds.
More water scarcity.
In short?
You lose control of food.
Your child inherits poison.
💊 My Medicine Box Is Overflowing — But Why Is My Child Still Sick?

You and I are already fighting a health battle.
From allergies to gut issues, from early puberty to mood swings — our children’s bodies are changing too fast, too soon.
If we allow this trade deal’s GMO clause, this will get worse. The U.S. food system is already showing us the result.
When their food changed, so did their medicine cabinets.
Metformin, statins, antidepressants — children as young as 12 are on them. Why?
Because Big Food made them sick. Then Big Pharma sold them a “solution.”
And both are owned by the same three shareholders: Vanguard, BlackRock, State Street. This is not a conspiracy. It’s capitalism. They want new markets — and India’s 1.4 billion is a goldmine.
If we say yes to this clause, your child’s body becomes the market.
📉 My Wallet Feels Lighter — But The Food Is Getting Costlier

You might be thinking: “But won’t trade bring growth?”
I asked the same.Yes, the 2025 US India Trade Deal promises $500 billion in trade.
But let’s not be fooled by numbers. When we import foreign seeds, chemicals, and processed food, we’re spending more in dollars.
More imports = more dollars needed = rupee value falls.
That means your grocery bill goes up.
Fuel goes up.
School fees, medical bills — all go up.
You earn the same.
You spend more.
Even worse — local farmers suffer.
When their seeds are useless or unaffordable, they quit.
When they quit, food prices go up even more.
It’s a loop.
And you, the parent, are stuck paying more and feeding less.
👩🎓 Fast Forward: Your Child, Age 25 — What World Will They Inherit?

Imagine your child at 25.You’ve done your best — school, food, love.
But if this deal passes in full today…Their world looks different.
They’re eating imported, chemical-heavy food. They need monthly meds for blood sugar or anxiety. They’ve never seen a real farm.Their water has pesticide residue.Their job? Maybe in a foreign-owned food lab, not a self-run kitchen garden.
Worst of all — they think this is normal. That’s why I say again:
This trade deal impacts children.
✋ Why I Stand By India’s NO — And Why You Must Too
Piyush Goyal said no. He is Minister Of Industry and Supply of Indian Cabinet under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi since 2014 to today.
India stood firm.
And suddenly, the backlash came:
- Trump tweets
- Foreign media outrage
- Opposition screaming “Modi failed!”
But no one told you the real reason.
Because it’s not about tariffs. It’s about territory. Not just physical land — but mental, biological, generational territory. This deal isn’t just a handshake.
It’s a handover. Imagine if there was a dumb minister doing this deal? He would have sold the country for billion dollar kickbacks which would be hidden in Swiss Banks. Your money in their banks. But thanks to Mr Piyush Goyal, your money and health are still safe.
🌾 So What Can You Do, Parent to Parent?
You don’t need to protest.
You don’t need to scream.
Just do this:
✅ Stay aware.
✅ Read labels.
✅ Question imported “superfoods.”
✅ Ask what your child’s school is feeding.
✅ Support desi, local farmers.
✅ Teach your kids where food comes from.
And when someone says: “Why do trade deals matter to parents?”
You look them in the eye and say: “Because my child matters. And this is about their future.”
