Natural multivitamins - made at home!

Let me warn any one reading this post at the onset.
This experiment is my own brain child and has not been scientifically tested or proven. But since I value my logic and gut feeling a lot, I find it 100% safe and it's efficacy too is excellent. ๐
So what is the experiment?
Well, this was three months back when, the swine flu fear groped all of us. I do not much believe in the multivitamins available in the market, especially after a doctor friend explained to me about the negligent tiny quantity that is present in each tablet.
But being a mother, not boosting my kids with supplements was also not easy on me. So I kept thinking of how my kids can get unadulterated multivitamins. And when it's anything to do with respect to my kids, all my six senses are at their peak alertness!:)
The first sure shot food that improves immunity is chicken soup and spinach or palak soup with other veggies added in the pressure cooker. I add whole cardamom (elaichi), black pepper seeds (kali mirch), jaiphal, whole turmeric, ginger piece and garlic cloves with tiny bit of salt and cloves (laung). This is like a booster for anyone in my family feeling weak, lazy or sick! ๐
Now there are loads of vegetables that my kids refuse to eat. ๐ If I make it in the rich gravy they eat in the name of gravy but not when made like a simple veggi.
So it just occurred to me one day when I was explaining the evaporation and condensation process to my kids while cooking in my kitchen to my kids and their friends.
I realized that a lot of condensed water under the lid of the pan in which I was cooking veggies was nothing but water from the veggies with loads of vitamins from that particular vegetable !
So I collected a tablespoon of that liquid and made my younger one drink it. He drank without any fuss ๐ !
The only thing that this potent vitamin filled liquid lacks is vitamin c as I know vitamin C is lost very easily in cooking process. For that I think the one glass of lemon juice that I give to my kids is enough.
So now I really believe my kids are getting the most natural form of multivitamins with no preservatives or color added.
But the efficacy of any product and experiment is judged from its results and repetition of the results.
I know for sure that my kids have not fallen sick of the most common flu and cold in the worst season in last three months when I can all their friends having gone through at least one bout of cold, cough or fever. That proves the efficacy of the home made multivitamins. But repetition of the same result is some thing that maybe anyone of you readers will come up with in future, if you try to take to this experiment. ๐
